The alarm is designed to give a remote indication of attempted interference with the rear doors of stationery vehicles and trailers, and can also be used to protect plant machinery, caravans, horse boxes and warehouse or garage doors. For many years freight companies have suffered from losses as a result of intrusions, many of which occur while a vehicle is at rest and the driver is away taking a break, or asleep in his cab. The Zenloc system is completely stand-alone from any electrical systems on the vehicle, and is simple and easy to use. The alarm is attached to a door across the join by means of magnetic clamps. If the door is non-ferrous, plates are provided with the unit which can be fixed to the door for the magnetic clamps to attach to. Any activation of the alarm sends a coded signal to a receiver carried by the driver and which emits a loud, audible tone as long as the driver is within 200-300 metres of the alarm. At the same time the Zenloc Portable Alarm sounds a piercing tone and a high intensity strobe light to warn the intruder that it has been activated. The alarm can only be deactivated using the coded electronic key which is neatly built into the receiver. Barry Schofield, inventor of the Zenloc Portable Alarm said: “The alarm is designed to give added peace of mind to operators that their drivers, vehicles and property are safe and secure, and I am delighted to have awarded FTA the sole distribution rights. I am looking forward to a successful working relationship between FTA and Zenloc.” The Zenloc Portable Alarm is available from Shopfta at £349.99 excluding VAT. Order online at www.shop.fta.co.uk or call 08717 11 11 11, quoting code 6816.

London Shipping Containers Adds Zenloc Portable Alarm as its Portable Alarm of Choice23rd September 2010 One of the UK's leading shipping container companies, London Shipping Containers, has added the award-winning Zenloc Portable Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com/) to its range of accessories for container sale and hire, as the Portable Alarm of choice. London Shipping Containers have many years experience in the sales and leasing of containers both to the haulage industry and individual consumers alike, in London and across the whole of the UK. As a company committed to service and value, container security is a key factor, which is why London Shipping Containers has chosen the Zenloc Portable Alarm as the Portable Alarm that they recommend. Susan Turner of London Shipping Containers explains: "We are excited to be able to offer this market-leading Portable Alarm to all customers who lease and buy containers from us. We believe the Zenloc Portable Alarm to be truly revolutionary in its field and we are confident in the fact that its quality, along with the very competitive price per unit, will see it become a must-have accessory to our containers, particularly for the rental market". What makes the Zenloc Portable Alarm groundbreaking in its field is the remote indication of any attempted interference of a container. The user/driver does not need to be in close proximity to the security breach to know of its existence, and the alarm is not reliant on any other electrical systems (which can of course also be compromised, rendering the alarm useless). The Zenloc Portable Alarm has been designed to be incredibly easy to use, entirely portable and it needs no great interaction from the user or driver: the alarm attaches simply and quickly to any sealed container and most fixed rigid vehicles. Thanks to both a visual and an audible confirmation of successful attachment, the user/driver can secure his container in seconds and walk away with complete confidence. IntePro Ltd Helps Zenloc Security Systems Ltd to Establish a Global Presence19th July 2010 This year sees Zenloc Security Systems Ltd., the company behind the award-winning Zenloc Portable Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com/), build on its success in the UK and establish an international presence. Zenloc Security Systems Ltd., in close consultation with management, marketing and agency services firm IntePro Ltd., has extended its dedicated Zenloc offices from the main Head Office in the United Kingdom to also include offices in Australia, South Africa and the United States, with yet more offices planned for South America and Europe. Zenloc requested the assistance of IntePro to establish a global network of Zenloc offices to assist the company in expanding the sales network for the groundbreaking 'Zenloc' Portable Alarm. Russell Byrne, Managing Director of IntePro, explains the business model the company used to do this: "Based on our groundbreaking Incentive Driven Empowerment Model (IDEM), we identify key partners for Zenloc and set these partnerships up based not on the classic 'what can you do for our client' approach, but on the 'what can we do to help you, help our client' approach. This extends to assisting in drawing up simple but effective routes to market, without all the peripheral marketing and sales dogma that so often detracts from the simple process of presenting to the relevant market place a very good product that is well supported by a sound and driven sales initiative." IntePro has established an organic model based on a central belief in the product - the Zenloc - and what the product can do for the container security industry and beyond. This belief in the Zenloc came about after IntePro gave the transport alarm to its target partners to evaluate, giving them all the tools they needed to objectively assess the product and make their own decision about whether to become part of the sales network. This approach, not based on any persuasive powers of either Zenloc Security Systems Ltd. or IntePro Ltd., has led to a concerted, targeted expansion of the Zenloc network throughout the world, with belief in the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm at its very core. Byrne further explains what IntePro have brought to Zenloc's table (as well as that of their partners): "IntePro, with its experienced marketing and sales resources, have the capability to administer sales and marketing related support to the global sales and marketing needs of Zenloc and Zenloc's partners as they grow and expand. This is a highly cost effective approach for our clients and largely does away with overheads which inhibit cash flow related to this function, especially on a global model. This approach frees the sales offices of Zenloc to focus on what they do best: sell this innovative product and support their regional customers backed up by IntePro Ltd. and Zenloc Security Systems Ltd. Top Five Ways Zenloc Portable Security Alarm is Different to Other Security Solutions22nd June 2010 The award-winning Zenloc Portable Security Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com/) has been heralded as revolutionary in the container security industry. So just what is it that sets this Portable Alarm apart from other security solutions available on the market? Here are the top five ways in which the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm is different than other transport security solutions. Use of audible tone and strobe light The Zenloc Portable Security Alarm has two ways of alerting everyone in the vicinity when the container/vehicle it is attached to is interfered with - a piercing audible tone and a strobe light, both of which can be seen and heard a good distance away from the container/vehicle. Container protection is normally difficult due to the elicit way in which thieves can break into containers without detection - unless they are protected with the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm that is. Remote alert system Another key differentiator of this freight alarm is its remote alert system. The driver carries with him a hand-held receiver which will alert him of any security breach of his container/vehicle, allowing him to call the police from a safe distance. Range of 300 metres The hand-held receiver has a range of around 300 metres which means that the driver can visit rest facilities and even get some sleep, safe in the knowledge that he will be made aware of any attempted break-in in his absence which he can deal with without having to put himself in personal danger. Driver Safety The remote indication of any attempted theft protects the driver more than any other alarm or lock on the market. Not only can he protect his cargo when he is away from it (keeping him well away from any problem should it occur and yet still able to act on it) but should someone try to break into the back doors of his vehicle while he is in the cab, he can lock himself in and call the police having been alerted to the fact by his hand-held receiver. And all this added safety comes without any hassle. In fact, because the Zenloc is a magnetic alarm, it's even easier to use than a standard container lock or Portable Alarm. It attaches to a huge range of surfaces quickly and easily and it is entirely self-arming. Portability The Zenloc is a Portable Alarm which means that the safety and security it provides is also portable. Its portability means it can be used on a wide variety of objects, from cargo containers to vehicles and horse boxes, even static objects such as garages, sheds and workshops. The Pentalver Group Puts Security First with the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm19th May 2010
Haulage security is a vital issue for The Pentalver Group (http://www.pentalver.com/), the leading provider of container-related activities in the UK. The cornerstone of the company's service offering is ensuring top level container security for its customers and personal safety for its drivers. That is why Pentalver have chosen the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com/) as its Portable Alarm of choice. The Pentalver Group provides a number of container-related services from depots located in all the leading ports of the UK, including container sales and leasing, storage, road haulage and cargo handling. Effective security underpins all Pentalver activity. Always looking to improve its service, the company sought a security solution that would protect its customers' cargo and its drivers' safety. After extensive research, Pentalver chose the award-winning Zenloc Portable Security Alarm, receiving 23 units of the Portable Alarm for the initial roll-out in mid-May. Russell Baker, Transport Manager for Pentalver: "Improving container security is a core part of improving our service, both for our customers and for our drivers. When it comes to transport security, a particular point of vulnerability is when the drivers are required to make overnight stops with loaded containers. Even in protected service areas, container protection can be a real problem. The Zenloc Portable Security Alarm is completely new to the market and far better than anything currently available with regards to enhanced security. The bulldog locks widely used on containers are simply no longer a deterrent". The Zenloc Portable Security Alarm is completely stand alone, not relying on any electrical systems to function effectively. The unit is comprised of a magnetic alarm which is easy and quick to attach to a number of surfaces and is entirely self-arming, as well as a hand-held receiver which the driver keeps with him. Any attempted breach of security will result in a warning tone being sent to the receiver, which has a range of up to 300 metres. CEO of Zenloc Security Systems and inventor of the alarm, Barry Schofield said, "The unique features of the Zenloc provide heightened container security and increased driver safety, both of which are of paramount importance to a container company as respected as Pentalver, part of the A.P. Moller-Maersk Group. Zenloc Security Systems is pleased to be able to assist Pentalver in enhancing its service offering through improved security". Illegal Immigration26th April 2010 With ever growing problem of illegal immigration throughout Europe - the Zenloc Alarm offers a cost effective solution. Heavy civil penalties are imposed on both Drivers and Haulage owners in the United Kingdom, which can be up £2000.00 PER ILLEGAL IMMIGRANT. With the ZENLOC alarm, both departure and entry border controls will have the added assurance of additional security being provided by haulage operators thereby limiting this activity and certainly reducing the workload and resource allocation that illegal immigration demands of authorities. This measure will enhance accreditation with the border control agencies and provide peace of mind and save you money.
The Many Uses of a Portable Portable Alarm9th April 2010 Barry Schofield, inventor of the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com) and CEO of Zenloc Security Systems, initially created the alarm to address the growing problem of freight theft, drawing on his extensive experience as a security consultant in the freight industry. Its primary function was to be a Portable Alarm, to protect the sealed doors of containers being shipped by road, rail or sea. The alarm has found a great deal of success in this arena since its launch, but over and above this, the benefits of its portable and stand-alone nature have become clear and extended its appeal to a wider audience. There are a number of facets of the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm that make it unlike any Portable Alarm that has come before. It is entirely stand alone and does not rely on any electrical systems, which means that just one small alarm and a hand-held receiver is all that is needed to adequately protect goods or cargo. The receiver itself is another departure from the norm as it allows the goods to be protected without the close proximity of the vehicle's driver. They simply attach the self-arming alarm and it is automatically activated and keep the hand-held receiver with them in the knowledge that they will receive a warning tone on it if there is any security breach, even if they are metres away. As soon as the driver is out of the 300 metres range (i.e. is a good distance away from his vehicle and the goods inside), the receiver will register a warning sound to inform him of this fact. This provides far more driver protection, allowing him to be able to deal with any attempted theft without putting him in personal danger. Both these facets make the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm more than just a Portable Alarm. It is inherently a magnetic alarm but the addition of newly designed mounting plates extends its versatility for use on non-metallic items and structures. This means that it can be used in a huge variety of instances: to protect caravans; horseboxes; plant machinery; vehicles containing valuable tools which have to be left unmanned at night; static containers on construction sites which contain valuable tools and materials; garage or warehouse doors - the list is just about endless. In each case, it is the portability of the alarm that is of such benefit. A Portable Alarm allows for a flexibility and versatility of use that is impossible to find with standard alarms. Add to this the fact that the reliability of this alarm protects goods to the same level as hugely costly and intricate integrated electrical alarm systems but at a fraction of the cost, and you begin to realise why the demand for this Portable Alarm has increased across industries. Port Express Protects its Fleet with the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm15th March 2010 Zenloc Security Systems is pleased to announce that another firm in the container security industry has chosen to use the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com) to protect its fleet and the precious cargo it transports. Port Express is a leading container transportation company serving the entire UK port network. The company was attracted to the innovation and flexibility of the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm, trusting it to ably protect the millions of pounds-worth of cargo it transports. Container protection is big business given the massive problem of cargo theft. Every year, the shipping industry suffers huge losses from security breaches of shipping containers, both when in transit on the road network and at rest in port. Given the significant value of the goods regularly shipped through the port and road network of the UK, it's surprising how often these containers are protected with the most basic of standard locking mechanisms. Such crude freight protection can be swiftly and near-silently removed; in fact when containers are broken into on the road, the driver is often in the cab entirely unaware of the breach of security happening to the container doors. It is this growing problem of freight security that was the impetus behind the invention of the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm, suitable for protecting any container or trailer and entirely new in its use of remote indication of attempted interference and enhanced driver safety implications. It was such innovations that led to the decision by Port Express (http://www.port-express.com/), one of the UK's leading container transportation firms, to use Zenloc to keep such security breaches at bay. For more information on how this Portable Alarm is helping fight freight crime in the ports and on the roads of the UK and Europe, visit http://www.zenloc.com. Zenloc Security Systems Appoints GB Electronics [UK] Ltd as European Distributor of the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm15th March 2010 Zenloc Security Systems Ltd is pleased to announce that GB Electronics [UK] Ltd will be the non- exclusive distributor in Europe for the company's innovative Zenloc Portable Security Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com). This is an exciting development for the alarm that is revolutionising freight security, transport security and all types of trailer security. Barry Schofield, Director, Zenloc Security Systems Ltd stated that "with the appointment of GB Electronics, we now have a key partner who can both sell this outstanding product but most importantly also offer first class after sales service for our customers." Zenloc Security Systems offers a unique and cost effective self arming magnetic alarm that 'talks' to the user and informs of any unwanted attention to whatever it is protecting. Container Security from only 57p per day with the Zenloc Portable Alarm System1st March 2010 Zenloc Security Systems Limited, the company behind the innovative Zenloc Portable Alarm System (http://www.zenloc.com), is excited to announce that it has secured a lease/purchase agreement that enables the freight industry to securely protect its containers for a staggeringly low 57 pence per day. This new lease/purchase agreement, available through the respected business equipment leasing firm Shire Leasing in Tamworth, signals a groundbreaking new era in freight security given the incredibly low cost of protecting millions of pounds-worth of freight. Up until now, container security was a costly or unreliable affair. State of the art alarms did not come cheap, perhaps explaining the proliferation of crude padlock and chain protection found on freight containers. This seemed ludicrous to many in the haulage security industry, not least because this is a highly ineffective way to protect haulage that often has a hefty price tag (the common bulldog lock can so easily and quietly be removed with oxy acetylene or power cutters). The Zenloc Portable Alarm Security System was designed by experienced security consultant Barry Schofield to fill this gap in the market. A cross between a freight alarm and a freight lock and incorporating a hand-held receiver that protects the driver as well as the freight, this system is more effective at protecting precious cargo than just about anything else on the market. Now, this revolutionary product is available through a lease/purchase agreement that makes reliable container protection affordable for both individual truck drivers and freight companies alike. Units of the Zenloc can be purchased outright for only £449 when purchasing between 51 and 100 units, and for just £499 when purchasing anywhere between just 1 and 50 units. Purchase between 2 and 20 units over 3 years at a cost of only £4.11p per week (only 59p per day) and between 21 and 70 units over 3 years for just £4.00 per week (just 57p per day!)*. All units come with a 12 month warranty and the option to purchase a maintenance contract for year 2 and 3 if required. The units can be insured for loss or theft at just £2 per unit per month through Zenloc Security Systems Limited's insurance partners 'Wrightsure', which ensures a brand new replacement is provided should either part of the unit (alarm or receiver) be stolen. This new agreement brings unparalleled freight protection to the entire freight industry at fantastically low cost; something that is sure to significantly impact freight security. Exciting New Agreement Sees Zenloc Tackle Equestrian Theft1st March 2010 Zenloc Security Systems is pleased to announce a new distribution rights agreement which sees the Zenloc Portable Alarm (http://www.zenloc.com) tackle the growing problem of equestrian theft. The agreement, which is in the final days of negotiation, will provide leading equestrian security firm Equine Secure (http://www.equine-secure.com/) with the rights to distribute this innovative new security device to the entire equestrian industry. In the same way that the freight industry is plagued by freight security issues, the equestrian world suffers massive losses - thefts which run into millions of pounds each year and which seem to be a worsening problem. All manner of equestrian equipment gets stolen: tack, horseboxes, trailers and other vehicles, even the horses themselves. Given that the equestrian world encompasses horse racing (the 10th largest industry in the UK), polo, horse shows, gymkhanas and individual horse owners, the scale of the security issues and the amount at stake is plain to see. Such is the severity of this growing problem, police forces around the country have begun issuing guides to help tackle equestrian crime. In one of these guides, the Suffolk Police advise the equestrian community that "serious consideration should be given to the installation of good quality alarms", singling out remote monitoring alarms as the best method of securing equine equipment. Until now, however, there was no such alarm available to the equine community which was up to the job of protecting tack rooms, stables, trailers and horseboxes from thieves, particularly as most crime occurs when the place or vehicle is unattended. However, the Zenloc Portable Alarm's portability, remote indication of a security breach, along with its stand alone nature (it does not rely on any other electrical systems) and the fact that its hand-held receiver provides additional protection, makes it the perfect solution for this burgeoning problem. Barry Schofield, CEO of Zenloc Security Systems and inventor of the alarm, explains that "Equine Secure were the natural choice for the distributor of the Zenloc Portable Alarm given the company's close ties to the equestrian industry in the UK, particularly the horse racing world. We are very excited to see the Zenloc help tackle equestrian crime just as successfully as it fights freight crime and indeed most types of security breaches." Equine Secure were keen to help the community by providing affordable and highly effective protection and saw Zenloc as the ideal solution. For more information on the technology, benefits and background of the alarm, visit http://www.zenloc.com, and for how it can help the equestrian world, visit http://www.equine-secure.com/. 'Truckersworld Truck Theft Text Alert' Highlights Container Security Issues20thDecember 2009 Container security is a pressing issue for the whole of the freight industry, from haulage companies to the drivers themselves. The latest development in this arena, the Truckersworld Truck Theft Text Alert, highlights the concerns that drivers have about container theft and even about their own personal safety. Drivers will be able to protect themselves better than ever before against the growing problem of haulage theft when using the text alert alongside the Zenloc Container Security Alarm System (http://www.zenloc.com). Truckersworld.co.uk, the website that unites professional drivers, reports that there were 1176 container trucks stolen in 2007 and 1895 in 2008, with this year's figures looking set to soar above this. It's clear that freight security is a very real issue; one that has gone unchecked for too long. The website expresses drivers' frustration at the common occurrence of stolen trailers being taken to industrial estates where thieves unload the stolen goods from a truck that no one realises has been stolen. The Truckersworld Truck Theft Text Alert alerts fellow drivers of the vehicle registration, livery colours and any distinguishing marks of stolen vehicles so that the huge network of drivers can look out for them on the roads, all within 30 minutes (when possible). Not only does this simple alert help protect the goods from stolen vehicles, the return of the vehicle and possibly the arrest of the thieves, but it also serves as a highly effective deterrent from future theft. For complete security, however, the text alert should be used in conjunction with effective container protection such as the Zenloc Container Security Alarm. This entirely new and innovative type of alarm, globally patented, has remote indication of any attempted security breach of the container. This remote alert that is sent to the driver's hand-set allows the driver to be at rest or away from his vehicle and still be notified of the problem, while the vehicle itself is protected by a visual and audible alarm. Not only does this effectively protect the freight but also the personal safety of the driver. Using the Zenloc freight alarm system in conjunction with the Truckersworld Truck Theft Text Alert could help address the increasing problem of freight and driver security more effectively than ever before. Zenloc Container Security Alarm: Saving You Money While Increasing Your Security9th December 2009 The world of transport security has long realised the potential of the Zenloc Container Security Alarm System (www.zenloc.com) when it comes to protecting against the massive losses the freight industry suffers each and every year as well as protecting the drivers themselves. But now, a new benefit of this alarm is coming to light: not only can this award-winning invention increase security and therefore prevent loss, it can even save the freight companies money. The first money-saving element of the innovative Zenloc Portable Alarm is the simple fact that trucks can only make money when they are in service and full working order. A truck that has been broken into or even tampered with will be out of action for some time, regardless of whether stock was stolen or not. Time off the road is revenue not made for the freight company and, in some cases, money not earned by the driver. Then there is the valuable time lost. The driver will need to stop his journey, alert his superiors and the police, if necessary, and arrange for the lock to be fixed and any other damage to the vehicle repaired. If there was goods stolen, the police will have to be involved, the driver will be interviewed and may be required to give a full statement. All of this lost time equates to lost money; money which could have been saved had the truck been adequately protected with a simple and low-cost Zenloc freight alarm. There are also extra security costs which can be saved. For instance, trucks that are not adequately protected often have to use the more expensive overnight parking areas that, in fact, offer very little in terms of increased security. Using the Zenloc Portable Alarm means that the truck it is protecting is highly protected in all situations, no matter how insecure. Therefore, there is no need to pay for the more expensive overnight facilities. This fact in itself can also save the freight company money. Not having to map the route around overnight rest stops with increased security means they are freed up for better route planning which will save on fuel and staff expenses. It can also make better use of the times and restrictions imposed by the tachograph rules, again improving efficiency and economy for the driver and the freight company. Finally, the Zenloc trailer alarm also provides a greater level of security to the freight companies' most valuable assets - their drivers. It gives the drivers added personal protection and peace of mind, safe in the knowledge that if they are attacked whilst they are asleep they will be alerted to the fact and can deal with the situation within the safety of their cab. If Cargo is at Rest, Cargo is at Risk16th November 2009 Billions of pounds-worth of goods are transported around the roads of Britain every single day, so it's no surprise that haulage security is a pressing issue. With so much at stake, gathering vital intelligence on how and when goods are stolen while in transit helps security experts come up with solutions that go to the heart of the problem. This is precisely how the award-winning Zenloc Container Security Alarm (www.zenloc.com) was conceived: out of the realisation that most container theft happens when the cargo is at rest. The inventor behind the Zenloc Portable Alarm spent a decade as a security consultant for some of the biggest names in haulage and learned that if cargo was at rest, cargo was at risk. It is when trucks stop to refuel or when the drivers use motorway facilities or stop overnight that most thefts occur, with security breaches happening both when the driver is in the cab and when he has stepped away. Trucks cannot avoid making stops just as drivers cannot avoid the need for sleep, therefore something had to be done for container protection at these vulnerable times. The globally patented Zenloc Portable Alarm system provides the perfect solution, highly effectively alarming the rear doors of a container while giving power to the driver in the form of a hand-held receiver that alerts him of a security breach anywhere up to 300m away from his vehicle. This revolutionary way to protect both cargo and driver means that goods are protected at all times, even during high-risk rest stops. Zenloc Container Security Alarm Receives Backing from Respected Insurance Investigators, Signum Services Ltd.30th October 2009 The respected insurance investigators Signum Services Ltd. has expressed its support of the new Zenloc Container Security Alarm. Signum Services Ltd. has served as specialist investigators in the shipping industry since 1953 and built up a prestigious reputation over the decades. Having witnessed a demonstration of the newly designed and produced Zenloc alarm (www.zenloc.com), Chief Investigator of Signum, Chris Simpson, referred to the award-winning product as "excellent". The Zenloc Portable Alarm consists of two units; the first fits across two container doors at the rear of any container (static, on the road or at sea) and is fitted with movement sensors which activate the alarm when roused (either when the container is being tampered with or if the alarm itself is being removed when activated). Activation of the alarm triggers a siren at 118 decibels as well as a strobe light. The second is a remote control unit which is around the size of a mobile phone and which allows the driver to set the alarm and deactivate it remotely. This remote control of the freight alarm remains within range for up to 300 metres, allowing the driver to be away from his freight to sleep or avail himself of rest facilities while still being alerted of any attempted breach of freight security. Chris Simpson of Signum Services was impressed by this remote activation ability, as well as the fact that the alarms were easy to use (being powered by batteries which are charged by simply plugging into the cab's cigarette lighter, giving 5 days of use on only 4 hours of charging). The fact that the trailer alarm is available to lease for only £50 per month was also deemed to be an important point from this insurers point of view. Simpson stated: "I thought the product to be well thought out and well constructed. Every attempt to move the unit or open the container doors resulted in the alarm being triggered. It seemed excellent." This solid endorsement is the latest positive news for the Zenloc Portable Alarm, which is promising to impact the insurance world as well as that of haulage security. Zenloc Celebrates Win at Gatwick Diamond Business Awards Breakfast16th October 2009 Barry Schofield, CEO of Zenloc Security Systems Ltd., was amongst the 2009 winners of the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards to attend the recent breakfast launch of the 2010 awards. The launch event, which took place on the 1st October 2009, saw the winners from the inaugural year gather together to swap success stories following their win, and to mark the opening of entries for the 2010 awards. The Zenloc Container Security Alarm won the prize for 'Innovation in Manufacturing' at this year's award ceremony in March. The Gatwick Diamond is the term coined for the area from Reigate to the Coast and from Dorking to the other side of Burgess Hill. The Gatwick Diamond Business Association created the awards to celebrate any business or organisation within the region that proves excellence in one of a number of fields, from sales and manufacturing to environmental awareness and customer satisfaction. Zenloc Security Systems Ltd. was honoured in this year's awards for The Zenloc Portable Alarm. Judges commented at the time that the Zenloc was "a product that was innovated in the true sense of the word, a product that brings both safety and security to the drivers and goods. It's also an expanding market which will bring extra opportunities to the Crawley area. The company presented itself well, a good demonstration of the product and gave a good account of where it is today and the future plans." Speaking at this month's Awards Breakfast, Barry Schofield reflected as to what the win had meant for the company and for the groundbreaking product: "The award has raised the profile of Zenloc both here, in Europe and recently in the USA. All of which stands us in good stead for the future, especially in these difficult times." Allport Limited Receives First Units of Zenloc Container Security Alarm 17th September 2009 Zenloc Security Systems Limited (www.zenloc.com) is proud to announce that Allport Limited, the UK's leading independent freight forwarder, is the first company in the world to take possession of the much-heralded Zenloc Portable Alarm. On 9th September 2009, the inventor of this award-winning freight alarm, Barry Schofield, personally delivered the first units to the Allport offices at The Haven in Ipswich. Barry Schofield, who has worked alongside Allport in some capacity for the past decade and as Group Security Consultant for five years, handed over the units of the Zenloc Portable Alarm to Matt Thomas, Team Leader of the Transport Team, who stated "I will get these out to the drivers immediately - these are brilliant". Allport has made it clear that the decision to place the first multiple order of this groundbreaking alarm was not based on Barry Schofield's previous relationship with the company, but instead was very much influenced by the product's innovation. An Allport press release publicising the company's receipt of the Zenloc states: "Fitting alarms to the rear door of a container is not a new idea, but what Barry Schofield's invention could do, that others couldn't, was send a remote alert to the driver either in his cab, or another location." Allport Operations Director, Kevin Witmore is quoted as saying, "It's a no-brainer for me - protection of my drivers and the goods they transport is vital." The remote indication of an attempted security breach is just one of the reasons that the Zenloc Portable Alarm won the prestigious Gatwick Diamond Business Awards for Innovation in Manufacturing in March of this year. The revolutionary aspects of the trailer alarm, and the positive and far-reaching implications this will have on freight security, means that Allport, and no doubt many more freight forwarding companies, are keen to adopt this container security device. Inventor and CEO of Zenloc Security Systems Ltd, Barry Schofield commented, "We are excited that Allport have chosen to trial the Zenloc Portable Alarm and are highly confident in their findings. Allport are just the sort of company to benefit hugely from the heightened security they will receive from our product." The Art of Zen(loc) and Driver Security12th September 2009 Freight transported on the road has always been targeted by criminals. Thankfully most attempts at theft are opportunist and easily thwarted, but there are still a small number of more determined attacks which can be accompanied by threats of violence and intimidation. Load integrity and driver safety are paramount to Allport so, when an inventor came along to demonstrate his innovative remote alarm, we were interested to see what it could add to our safety protocols. Fitting alarms to the rear door of a container is not a new idea, but what Barry Schofield's invention could do, that others couldn't, was send a remote alert to the driver either in his cab, or another location. For the first time a driver could notify authorities of a security breach without leaving the safety of the cab, or risking assault when physically inspecting the rear doors. Allport Operations Director, Kevin Witmore. "It's a no-brainer for me - protection of my drivers and the goods they transport is vital. We'll trial the alarm on a handful of vehicles and, if it works, roll out to the rest of the fleet as soon as we can." Allport are the first UK forwarder to place an order for Zenloc security solutions. CEO of Zenloc Ltd, Barry Schofield commented, "We are excited that Allport have chosen to trial the Zenloc Portable Alarm and are highly confident in their findings, Allport are just the sort of company to benefit hugely from the heightened security they will receive from our product." The globally patented Zenloc Portable Alarm has been specifically designed to warn container drivers of an attempted breach of security, or of any kind of tampering, when they are at rest or are away from their container. The stand-alone nature of the Zenloc Portable Alarm, along with its ability to protect drivers more than ever before, makes this alarm truly revolutionary. The freight and haulage industry has always been open to security breaches and regularly suffers losses given its very nature. Billions of pounds worth of freight is shipped all over the world every year in containers that can never be made to be entirely tamper-proof. The primary security breach often comes when the driver is taking a break away from the vehicle or is asleep in the cab, unavoidable situations given the long-haul nature of most container trips. The rear container doors are some distance away from the driver in these instances and can be relatively easily forced in little time. But when using the Zenloc Portable Alarm system, the driver is instantly warned of any such intrusion, whether he is at the front of the container itself or metres away in another building. At the heart of the Zenloc Portable Alarm, and what makes it groundbreaking in its field, is the remote indication of any attempted interference. No longer does the driver need to be in proximity to the security breach to know of its existence, and no longer does the alarm have to be reliant on other electrical systems on the vehicle (which can of course also be compromised, rendering the alarm useless). The Zenloc Portable Alarm has been designed to be incredibly easy to use and it needs no great interaction from the user or driver: the alarm attaches simply and quickly to any sealed container and most fixed rigid vehicles. Thanks to both a visual and an audible confirmation of successful attachment, the driver can secure his container in seconds and walk away with complete confidence. It is then that the Zenloc Portable Alarm really comes into its own. Any attempted tampering of the container will activate the alarm. This is instantly communicated to a receiver held by the driver through both a coded signal and a loud audible tone. At this very moment the Zenloc Portable Alarm itself emits both a piercing tone and high intensity strobe lighting, which warns the would-be thief that the device has been activated and attracts attention to the attempted security breach. The only way the Zenloc Portable Alarm can then be deactivated is by using a coded electronic key which is in-built in the receiver that is in the driver's possession. Inventor and developer of the Zenloc Portable Alarm, Barry Schofield, has already received an overwhelmingly positive response from all levels of the freight industry about this cutting edge solution to an age-old problem, but feedback from one quarter was of particular interest. "As container drivers are at the sharp end of what is a significant security problem for the freight industry, it's been great to hear what the extra protection the Zenloc Portable Alarm provides will mean to the drivers themselves. Our extensive market research uncovered a common problem - up until now, any driver who has their container attacked has to put themselves at real risk by leaving their cab to address the incident. The Zenloc Portable Alarm provides the driver and their cargo with complete protection, and also gives control over the situation back to the driver." It's clear that the Zenloc Portable Alarm is set to be a trailblazing product given the many positive ramifications of this entirely innovative security device. While there are potentially billions of pounds worth of goods that stand to be protected, and countless insurance premiums that could be lowered, it is arguably the increased driver safety and peace of mind that the alarm provides that will be the most important feature of the Zenloc Portable Alarm. |

Zenloc Security Systems Ltd. (http://www.zenloc.com/), the company behind container security solutions, is proud to announce its sponsorship of the Worth Park Rangers, the under 13 boys' football team which plays all over Sussex. From this football season, the 11 aside team of talented young footballers will be wearing a strip bearing the Zenloc name and logo for every Sunday match.
Zenloc Security Systems may be used to providing global security solutions, such as the award-winning magnetic alarm the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm, but it is still a company which has its roots firmly and proudly placed in the local community of Crawley in Sussex. Indeed, the Zenloc Portable Alarm won an award for 'Innovation in Manufacturing' in the Gatwick Diamond Business Awards 2009. These are awards which celebrate business venture in the local 'Gatwick diamond' region, an area which has Crawley at its very centre.
CEO of Zenloc Security Systems and inventor of the Zenloc Portable Security Alarm Barry Schofield explains the local passion behind a global business: "My company helps businesses all over the world, but being based in Sussex and having had the pleasure of receiving a local business award, Zenloc Security Systems was keen to be involved in something grass roots. What better way than by sponsoring a local youth football team? Over the years the team, which still features six of the original boys, grew to the current 11 aside 2nd division team which now plays all over Sussex, training each Tuesday and playing matches each Sunday. This season sees the Worth Park Rangers add a couple of new signings and push for promotion. Coach Jason Hill says of the Zenloc sponsorship: "Barry Schofield has been a regular supporter of the Worth Park Rangers for many years and is committed to providing the team with whatever they need".

Click here to read about the Zenloc Portable Alarm exhibiting at the Logistics Security Network Exhibition . Rise in Truck Theft While Drivers Sleep1st October 2009
Theft is on the rise, an unfortunate yet predictable side-effect of the global recession. The freight industry is no different, with container security being stepped up to deal with an increase in truck theft. One of the most vulnerable times for truck security is when the driver is at rest. For long distance drivers sleep is unavoidable; for thieves it's the perfect opportunity to simply, quickly and relatively quietly cut through the metal bolts which are often the truck's only means of protection. It's precisely this situation that inspired the invention of the new Zenloc Portable Alarm (www.zenloc.com), the freight alarm that is helping to solve this growing problem.
In September of this year, more than 400 laptops were stolen from a truck that was parked up in a lay-by close to Junction 1 of the M6 near Rugby. The driver of the Hungarian-registered truck was asleep in his cab as thieves cut through a metal bolt to gain access to the container, the bolt being the only protection at the back of the truck, and indeed the most common type of protection currently in use. Seven pallets of expensive computer hardware were stolen, yet to be recovered. A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police described the incident as a "high-value theft". This scenario is all too common, and until the advent of the Zenloc Portable Alarm, practically unavoidable.
Inventor of the Zenloc and CEO of Zenloc Security Systems Limited, Barry Schofield, drew from years of experience as a security consultant to the haulage industry when he came up with the idea for the alarm. The Zenloc Portable Alarm signals any attempted breach of security to the driver by means of a handheld receiver. This means that they can be asleep or indeed up to 300 metres away from their cab and still be made aware of an attempted break-in. Any attempt to remove the alarm also elicits a massively loud piercing tone and strobe lighting, likely to attract far more unwanted attention to the thief than the sound of a metal bolt being removed with bolt cutters.
The Zenloc is now available for rental, with Allport being the first major freight forwarder to trial this groundbreaking invention. All eyes are on this new alarm, given the far-reaching implications it promises for freight security.
